A Magical Night of Art, Color, and Community in Incline Village

I recently hosted a painting workshop right here in Lake Tahoe at the beautiful Karacotta Ceramics Studio in Incline Village, and it was such an incredible experience! From the amazing group of attendees to the dreamy setup (hello, edible flower cocktails!), the whole night felt like a celebration of creativity and connection.
About Karacotta: A Creative Space with Heart
Karacotta is owned by an inspiring entrepreneur who relocated to Tahoe from Austin. She’s built more than just a ceramics studio — it’s become a hub for artists, makers, and locals to come together and create. When she invited me to host a Paint&Petals workshop there, I immediately said yes. The space is beautiful, welcoming, and filled with creative energy.

What Made This Workshop So Special
We had 13 amazing attendees, and the vibes were unmatched. Two people even drove up in a snowstorm from the Roseville area just to join us! They were on my email list and had discovered Paint & Petals through our products in Raley’s stores, which made it even more meaningful.
Karacotta went above and beyond with the hosting — from handcrafted cocktails to delicious food, and yes, fresh edible flower petals adorning every drink. It felt so perfectly on-brand in the best way.
Thoughtful Takeaways and Creative Inspiration
Each guest received a little P&P swag bundle to take home, including:
-
A Paint&Petals apron
-
A P&P botanical soap
-
A professional-grade Blooms Brush paintbrush
It was my way of saying thank you, and also setting them up to keep creating after the workshop. Throughout the night, I shared my love of color theory, composition tips, and even brought a few of my favorite art books for inspiration — including books showcasing the paintings Louis Dodd and Alex Katz, two artists whose use of color and shape I adore.

A Night to Remember
This night reminded me just how powerful it is to create and share space with others. Whether you're brand new to painting or a seasoned creative, these workshops are all about exploring your style, connecting with community, and letting go of perfection in favor of play.
